Stress has a way of bleeding into everything.

Work.
Thinking.
Sleep.
Decision-making.

And for a long time, I treated that stress like a problem I needed to solve before I could move forward.

That was the lie.

At some point, after enough late nights, tough decisions, and uncomfortable seasons, I accepted something simple:

My life isn’t going to be calm. And that’s okay.

Once I stopped waiting for peace before progressing, everything shifted.

I used to use stress as an excuse.
A justified one, but still an excuse.

“I’ll focus when things slow down.”
“I’ll do better when life is lighter.”
“I’ll move when the pressure lifts.”

But pressure doesn’t lift when you’re building something meaningful.
It sharpens.

That realization changed how I show up.

I write on Beehiv now too, which pays me so I can walk you through my journey of Doing Better Being Better. So, please check them out. 👇

Let’s get back to the reason why you are here, my stress….

Now, when stress hits, I treat it like fuel, not friction.

Not because it feels good.
But because I’ve learned how to work through it instead of around it.

Stress is loud.
Purpose is quiet.

And when I lose focus, it’s rarely because stress is too heavy,
It’s because I’ve stopped remembering why I’m here.

The stressors?
They’re usually distractions wearing importance.

What I Do When Stress Is High

1. I don’t wait to feel better
Momentum creates clarity — not the other way around.

2. I reconnect to the long game
Stress lives in today. Purpose survives decades.

3. I remind myself this is familiar territory
I’ve been uncomfortable before. Growth usually feels like this.

4. I move anyway
Action quiets the noise faster than overthinking ever will.

I’ve learned this the hard way:

A stress-free life isn’t the goal.
A meaningful one is.

And meaningful work comes with weight.

So if you’re overwhelmed right now, don’t assume something is wrong.

It might just mean you’re still in the fight.

I’ll leave you with this:

Are you trying to escape the pressure
or are you finally ready to let it shape you?
